Description

Fueguia 1833 Humboldt is one of the brand’s best sellers; perhaps it’s because bergamot tends to exert an inexplicable gravitational pull on so many of us, but it’s hard not to love this unisex fragrance.

This fragrance was inspired by Alexander von Humboldt, a geographer and naturalist who explored South and Central America between the years of 1799 and 1804 with French naturalist Aimé Bonpland. With it, creator Julian Bedel imagined the fresh air they might have experienced during their travels, enhanced with the sound of someone biting into a glistening passion fruit behind the mist.

Humboldt’s main note is bergamot, whose sharpness is cut with passion fruit and tangerine. The effect is not heavy and sweet as many fruity fragrances tend to be, nor is it as hard and bright as some citrus fragrances can be. The overall effect is summery, very pretty, and easy to wear. A lot of the early visitors to our Fueguia 1833 table in our SF studio left with a bottle of Humboldt: it’s an excellent entry point for the collection.

The full size (50 ml) is hand-filled in glass in Italy, then packaged by hand in Fueguia’s iconic wooden box. Each limited-edition batch of Humboldt is unique, and your bottle — one of just 400 like it — will be engraved with a specific year and batch number.
